On Friday night, we watched the Wales v England rugby match at the Rhyd-y-Pennau pub in Bow Street. Ann, Barry and their boys were with us, and Jean, Sam and Harvey wore Wales shirts specially for the occasion. Amidst the atmosphere pre-match, Harvey was quite excited, and was the centre of attention for a time. He even yelled 'C'mon Cymru!' (Welsh for 'Wales') to howls of laughter and approval.
The game began full of promise for Wales, leading throughout the first half of the match. But before too long, England took the lead and defeated Wales 23-18.
The game over, Ann, Ann's son Tom, and the rest of us played darts. After that, Tom and his mother played pool. Ann was the victor in both.
Yesterday morning, we went up Constitution Hill in the little railway that takes passengers up the second steepest cliff face in the world (the steepest is in the Blue Mtns in Sydney), which we didn't think operated in winter. Soon, we were amusing ourselves at the Pier.
