A sunny afternoon in Helsinki

This morning, when I was walking alone around Suomenlinna in the cold, appropriately dressed for sub-zero temperatures - multiple layers, the furry hat etc - I thought it was slightly unimaginable that in a few weeks we might be roasting in the Caribbean.

After I returned to the hotel, Jean was better and ready for a walk.  So out we went, going a greater distance than I thought we would.  Although cold today, the sun had shone all day.  We strolled back to Market Square and beyond.  We soon found the Lutheran Cathedral, impressive from the outside.  Perhaps because it is a Lutheran cathedral, the design is exactly like Dresden's Frauenkirche.  But the latter is streets ahead of this cathedral here.

We eventually found a little market where they sold various on-the-go foods, and a street or two later, we found Robert's Cafe.  Jean had a latte, and I enjoyed a chai latte.  We slowly strolled home.

In the hotel restaurant tonight, I had reindeer roast, and Jean had fish.

Helsinki has trams, just like Nice, Augsburg, Dresden, Vienna, and other European cities.
We entered some shops.
The railway station is in the background.

Lovers place padlocks on bridges all over Europe.
The water here is frozen, at least partially.
