Last day aboard

14 March 2015

The trouble with the last day of a cruise is you are mentally preparing to get off the ship.  You pack your bags, you say your goodbyes to the wonderful friends you've made, and you take a last look at everything aboard.

For a while I sat on Deck 5 watching the ocean pass by.  It occurred to me that out there in the ocean, there is no rat race, no quarrelling communities, no bickering neighbourhoods, no criminals, no countries in conflict with one another.  No worries, no cares.  It's just a vast, vast ocean.  Peaceful.

Vicky and Gene invited us to High Tea in the Tuscan Grill, one of the restaurants you pay extra for.  Neat little sandwiches, scones, jam and cream and other delights greeted us as we watched the ship's wash trail behind us as the ship sailed forward in the vast ocean.

Tonight, we will dine in one of the expensive restaurants, the Qsine.  Tomorrow is Jean's birthday and our 25th wedding anniversary.  Our friends who dine with us in the Moonlight Sonata organised a Happy Anniversary cake for us.
