Then, while Jean repaired to the casino, I listened to another talk by the former White House insider, Melinda Bates, who knew the Clintons personally. She said the Queen was a frequent visitor to the White House over the years. One time the Queen attended a State dinner there hosted by President Gerald Ford. The band was given a severe dressing down after the dinner because of the song they played - the song was 'The Lady is a Tramp'. Apparently, though, the Queen officially never notices anything that goes wrong.
I then attended a talk on 'on shore excursions' that cover the islands we'll visit over the next few days. After that, Jean and I both attended a talk on a particular Celebrity cruise - one that goes to the Galápagos Islands. We were very impressed, and perhaps one day we'll do this. There is, however, a waiting list of about 18 months, and it is fairly pricey.
After lunch in the Aqua Spa, I had a snooze in our cabin, and then sipped tea on the pool deck. I then met Jean and we got ready for dinner, which, tonight, was formal. A very lazy, leisurely kind of day. But then, it was a sea day, and sea days can be whatever you want them to be.
Tomorrow, we arrive in Grenada, country number 49 for me.
