Getting near the time

It's getting near the time now when we head off on yet another journey.  On Monday 19 January, 2015, we jet off on a nine-week jaunt to the Caribbean via London, Wales and Finland.  We thought we'd take the long way round.

Our trans-world excursion will be very varied.  After four days in London, we then hit Wales for a few weeks where Jean's Dad turns 80. We'll help him celebrate.  On this leg of the journey, we'll be accompanied by our two daughters, Sophie and Jessica, and Jess' boyfriend, Sam.  We'll also have our four year old grandson Harvey with us.  Then, in mid-February, Sophie, Jess, Sam and Harvey return home, while Jean and I fly to Finland to meet a distant relative who I've been in touch with since 2012, thanks to an earlier travel blog, which my relative discovered on the Internet.  Finland will boast a maximum daily temperature of zero degrees.  After five nights there, followed by a couple of more weeks in Wales, we fly to Miami, board a cruise ship, and sail the Caribbean for a fortnight.  Apart from fine dining and quality drink, it will be sun, sailing, swimming, and sweet 30 degrees Celsius temperatures!  This is to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary.  It should be a great blog, so come with us.

Why is this blog called "To The Caribbean With Love"?  Our last blog, written in 2014 in the US, was called "To 'Vegas With Love", when our trip there culminated in the black jack and roulette tables of the city of vice.  Our earlier blog was "To Ephesus With Love", when we trekked across Europe, taking in 15 countries, the Mediterranean, and the ancient world.  Our blogs take their names from earlier, famous productions such as "To Rome With Love" and "To Moscow With Love".  Thus, a precedent has long since been set!
